The Dream

The boys in Mrs Geraghty's class were asked to reflect on their futures - what did they hope for in time to come. Below are the responses of the group:

Dreams Do Come True - By Darragh Fleming.

My biggest dream was to be a footballer for Real Madrid and Ireland. Here is how I thought of it. When it was my birthday I spent all of my money on lemons, water, ice and sugar and made lemonade. When I was eleven I sold 600 lemonades and got €250. I saved that money until I was old enough to move out of the house and moved to Spain. I was scouted to play for Real Madrid. It was then the Irish coach saw me play and wanted me to play for the Irish team as well. So I guess dreams do come true!!!!

My Dream by Oran Flannery

I won the lotto. Bought a Ferrari, Bugatti Veron and a Porsh in my garage. I'd get a fifty inch tv for my new fabulous house. Then I'd play for Liverpool and win the Champions League go back to Ireland and play for Ireland win the World Cup. Become the best player in the world and be a millionaire and be the richest person then have good fun and then retire at 35 years of age. Meet my family and buy them dinner at the nicest hotel. I'd bring them to new York and finally live my dream life in Australia in the sun. My life will be the best in the world. I had good times meting Messi, Gerrard and Ronaldo.

My Dream by Daniel Svilans

I dreamed about being a soccer player. But how I could do then? I'd have to work very hard in school and get my education. And when i get my education i will go to a soccer team like Castlebar Celtic. I trained hard and played brilliantly. And after we get ready for the match. Off we go! All the people cheering and screaming. After 12 minutes of the game i saw Jose Morinio watching the match. Luckily just after 20 minutes I scored a brilliant goal i celebrated with my team mates. Eventually we won 1.0 to Celtic. Then Jose Morinho said "I WANT YOU FOR CHELSEA"he said. And my DREAM CAME TRUE!!!.

My Dream by Adam Cleary

One frosty cold morning I wonder about my life. So I decided to go see my nanny because she has eggs with baby chicks in. Then she gave me a few of them. So they then hatched out and I sold them for five euro. And to get very rich from it. And I got a car.

My Dream for the Future     By Darragh Fahey

My dream is to have a job like Adam Richman had ....
He was the presenter for a T.V show named Man vs Food. Adam went around America to various restaurants doing the food challenges given to him. The aim of these challenges was to eat the amount of food given to him in the shortest amount of time possible.
My favourite episode was when he had to eat 7 of the hottest chicken wings on the planet in 30 minutes, but when he was finished he was not allowed to have a glass of water or wipe the burning hot sauce off his face for another 5 minutes.

There are perks and downfalls to this job. Three of these perks are to see the beautiful scenery of America, eating some of the best food on the planet and being famous on T.V. The downfalls are having to pay for your food (even though he is a millionaire), suffering from indigestion and developing diabetes (the reason he had to retire).
Adam and I are quite similar, we both like to eat food but he is famous and I amn't ....... Not yet!

After all, this is just my dream for the future. One day I do hope to have that job and become rich and famous.

My Dream by David Grealis
My dream is to be either a gaelic player, football player, basketball player or a table tennis player, but it will be extremely hard to be any one of these. I will give my reasons.

Gaelic
It will be very hard to be a gaelic player because there is a lot of people who play gaelic in Castlebar and even more in Mayo. I could pick up a bad injury or I could get sent off in a game. I can only just keep practising and with a bit of luck, I might make it.

Football
It will be hard  to be a football player because football is played all over the world, it is even very hard to get a trial at a club. I might have an injury or the manager or scout might not like my style of play. As with gaelic, I can just keep practising. I hope I can make it.

Basketball
t will be very tough to be a basketball player because there is a lot of people who play basketball. I might have an injury. I will have to be very tall. The manager might not the style of player I am. I hope I can make it.

Table Tennis
It will be very challenging to be a table tennis player because there is a lot of people who play table tennis. I might miss a training session and will be sent home. There is a lot of good players in the world so it would be hard, but I hope I can make it.

My Dream by Eoin Canning

10 years later... "Oh its Canning on the ball, he takes a shot oh what a goal!!!
When Real Madrid signed him for €58m they knew he was going to do well, and he has.
His 21st goal for the club. He's wearing the same number as club legend Cristiano
Ronaldo and is hoping to be as good as him. The whistle has blown and the score
is Real Madrid 2 Athletico Madrid 0. Man of the match: Eoin Canning.

My Dream by Thomas Nyland

My dream has come true. It is now 2025. I am qualified as a primary school teacher and also play for Mayo and Mitchels senior teams. I teach 3rd class in St. Patrick's BNS and I play in the number 5 jersey for Mayo and number 2 jersey for Mitchel's. This year Mitchel's are playing for their third All-Ireland Club title in a row, with their first ever win in 2014! Mayo, on the other hand, are STILL waiting for the last 1951 player to die!!!!!

I train six nights a week depending on my schedule, and I have to eat a healthy diet - which includes three meals a day: Weetabix or porridge with fruit for breakfast, followed by some wholegrain bread. For dinner I have chicken or fish with pasta and vegetables. For tea I have salad. I spend three evenings a week in the gym. After some stretches I concentrate on weights for twenty minutes then set the treadmill to seven km per hour, while I run for 15 minutes.

I teach 25 boys in my class.Along with the usual subjects such as English, Irish, Maths etc. I encourage the boys to develop their talents, by taking part in debates, writing essays, researching information for projects, developing football and computer skills and every Friday, as a treat I teach them how to sketch and draw.

I feel very proud to have reached my goal so far in life. I had a dream like Martin Luther King, and now I am living it. My next goal is to live past a century......!

My Dream by Jack McDonald

"I'll now hand you over to our commentators for this match, Clive Tilsey and first Trevor Welsh" "Thank you Matt, The sun is beating down here in Liverpool this match will decide the title, Liverpool are missing out on some key players so young McDonald is on the bench and could possibly make his debut".  And we are off, Chelsea playing towards the Kop in this half in their blue strip while Liverpool playing towards Anfield Road in their red home strip". I do think this match will be a thriller". "Liverpool pick the ball up, Henderson quickly offloads it to Sterling who takes a shot oh it skims the post and goes out". "Chelsea now have possession of the ball, it is Oscar with the ball he takes a shot and hits the bar Mingolet catches it and the ref blows the whistle to indicate the end of the first half we'll be back after the break".

"Welcome back the teams are all set and ready to go, already Chelsea are attacking oh they narrowly miss, still after 84 minutes no score but it looks like McDonald is being made ready". Oh Chelsea take a shot but it goes harmlessly out Liverpool now make the change and McDonald goes out to the left". "Liverpool are attacking they ship the ball out to McDonald who cuts through the defence with some amazing skill and looks to shoot but is brought down right outside the box. This free kick will be the last play of the game it looks like McDonald is lining it up!" "There is silence everywhere you look, the refs whistle blows and the young Irish man runs up strikes it, it looks to be going out but the ball starts to spin and it goes in the top corner. The Liverpool fans go mad as the ref blows the final whistle".

My Dream by Stephen Lammond

Most young boys would dream of becoming a famous sports star and play for Man United or Liverpool.  My dream is simply to win the lotto.  With this money I could build a lovely mansion with an indoor and outdoor pool.  I would also have a few sports cars in my multi storey garage.  I would have my private jet to take me and my friends to Italy to eat freshly made pizza.  But I am not a greedy person.  I would like to help the needy!

My Dream by Declan Mortimer

BWF World Championship Final between Declan Mortimer of Ireland and Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia. Wow what a jump smash by Declan Mortimer if he could win this he could be the youngest ever world champion. He is definitely giving the world number one a hard time.

I was thinking that if I win this I would be in all of the newspapers but that didn't matter It just mattered that I was playing the game that I love. Match point for Declan Mortimer, SMASH he has done it he has made history. I was nearly crying tears at that moment my Mum ran on the court and shouted "Wake up for school you're late." "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" It was all a dream it turned into the best time of my life to the worst time of life.

My Dream by Kasjan Derewianyk

My dream is to be a professional goalkeeper for Manchester United. I would love a job like this as I would get popular and they pay a lot of money. I would also meet famous people. Thee bad things about this job is that the manager might not like me or even worse, I could get a very bad injury and never play again, but I'd still love a job like this.

My Dream  by Oisin Quinn

I heard the final whistle blow. Castlebar Celtic had just won the finals 3-1 against Dublin City and what a thrill that was especially that I was man of the match. After the match I went home. I was watching T.V. and suddenly I heard the phone ring I went and picked it up. Hello my name is Carlos and I am a scout for Barcelona fc and my boss Gerardo Martino wants you on his team. I was so excited I felt my heart was going to jump out of my chest. Yes! Yes! of course I would like to play for Barcelona. I told my parents the news and the next week we got on a plane and set off for Spain.

Dont believe it if you dont want to but my first match was against Real Madrid. The match started I was positioned centre attacking mid I got the ball through balled it to Messi and he was fouled its a red card for Xavi Alonso and its inside the the box Messi stepped up to the penalty box and then he called for me to take it I walked 5 steps back took a run up and placed it in the top left corner we won the match 1-0 I was living the dream.
