The Beggar

The boys in Mrs. Geraghty's were asked to describe a beggar on the street as a response to the beggar mentioned in the story we are currently exploring, Well done boys! Here are their paragraphs:

The Beggar by Kaelan Mee

The beggar is a man who just wants to fit in and be accepted by people. He has tattered clothes, rotted teeth and a ripped mattress for a bed. He had no money, no family and house. He used to be a rich man but he blew in all on gambling. He lost his job. He could not pay the mortgage so he lost his house also. The beggar had lost everything and now could only look back at the way things used to be and wish they were like that again.

The Beggar by Patryk Mioduszewski

John the beggar was a very kind person. He had helped people and been generous in many ways before he lost everything. Now his only possessions are a one cent coin, a very wet piece of nasty tasting bread and a rubbish bag to keep him warm. He lived in a cold black alley with his dog called Sparks. He had only 3 friends Josh the Beggar, Leo the Beggar and his dog Sparks. His clothes were all covered in mud. His brown coat had a lovely yellow striped pattern but now it was very tattered and dirty. His jeans which were blue with no pockets were now also very messy and his hat was disgusting. His hair had been a lovely brown color but now was matted and had lost all it's shine.

Beggar by Eoin O'Cathasaigh
Every morning I walk down the street to see a man sitting down with a small amount of bread left. He never speaks to anyone or do anything to anyone. He has a scar on his cheek. He has one black eye. He always holds an old can of beans filled with muddy water. People never offer anything to him because they think he smells. He sleeps in a garbage bag. What a life he has!

Hobo by Sean Paul Greenan

The hobo was homeless. He had gum disease from brushing with a dirty toothbrush and rainwater. He hardly had any teeth left. He had a scar across his face. He had no family just a little cat for company. He slept on an old bench in the park. The hobo used up an old smelly ripped up blanket from the trash to keep him warm at night. He also wore a bag to keep out the cold. The hobo was very thin indeed. He had a bent spine from all the hardship he had suffered. All he had to eat was old gone-off bits of food from the trash. His clothes were dirty and ripped up. Sometimes he would stare in the windows of people's houses and secretly watch some shows on TV. He didn't mean to offend anybody by doing that, in fact he never wanted to offend anyone.
The Beggar By Filip Wepa

The beggar was very poor and lonely. The beggar did not have a home or money and only had fresh bread from the old woman. The beggar might live in a trashcan or in the alley between two buildings. The beggar might have bad luck, because the cars would splash the dirty water all over his face.

The Beggar by Inan Mannan.
The beggar was poor, pale and scruffy. He was a hobo and had tattered clothes. He had long shaggy hair and looked like he hadn’t washed in days. The beggar was a champion gambler and lost for his first time. He had lost everything. He lives in a short cardboard box and had a wet and dirty blanket to protect him. He had a picture of his mum and dad but they passed away. The beggar had stale bread and a handful of dirty water. He had a little pup but he passed away not long after he was born. The pup was obviously not able to cope with such poor living conditions.

The Beggar by Mohamad Barghouty

The beggar looks old. He is also poor and disabled. And has worn and torn clothes. He has smelly and dirty hands. He has a sleeping bag and some other stuff in another bag. He sits in the same place every time I pass by him. He has a small tin so people can leave money in it.

The Beggar by Norbert Rakowski

The beggar was poor, skinny, dirty and  had rotten teeth. His clothes were dirty, he was smelly. He had a garbage bag to keep him warm and dry but he was still cold. He needed food and clean water. But he only had muddy water. He had a scar on his left cheek. The alley he lived in was full of rats and garbage. He wanted to have a home.

The Beggar by Danial Maqbool

The beggar is very pal. He lives in a dark narrow alley. He  actually had a good life before he lost every thing. When there was world war his house got bombed he barely lived. He was very thin and very hungry he had ripped and tattered clothes. He lived by drinking muddy water and by knocking on peoples doors and asking for food. He is a hobo. His friends are other fellow hobos. He also robs very little.
