Many of the boys in fourth class were involved in Futsal in Breaffy Sports Hotel. Here are their reports on the great event.
Peter Basquille
We had to come into school at 8:50 as normal and met at Carmel’s office at 9:00 we had to wait for Jake and he was about 15 minutes late. So we got on to the bus. Our first match was at 9:30. It was about 9:25 then. Then we got into our jersey’s we went on to the pitch and they took tip . It was a tight game. Then Oran got the opener it was 1:0 .So they took tip again. JP took a shot and it went through Stefan’s legs 1:1 and I thought they would get all the momentum and win but they did not, JP scored then Oran scored his second. It was a few minutes until it was over and I took a sideline kick and I crossed it into the box and Michael tapped it into the goal and we went bonkers. It was 4:1 and that was the end of the match we went THROUGH!!!!!!!! HURRAY !!!!!!!!!!!
Stefan Hester
We were playing Derrywash and this was the
starting team. I was in goal the two backs were Oran and Peter and the two
forwards were Darragh and Michael and our manager was Mr Canning and our subs
were J.P, Jack, Jake, Danny, Dylan and Ben so let’s get on with the game so we
started of and a few minutes in we scored 3 and Drrywash scored 1 and they scored again and we took of
Oran and put on Dylan and we took of Michael and Darragh for Danny and Jake and
we scored 3 more and we took of Danny
for J.P and J.P scored the last goal and
it was all over and we whent for some food and drink and we were very happy. By

Ben McHale
When it came to the second match it was my first
time on the pitch. After Oran scored four he came off, then the score was 6-0
after Michael scored twice. Dylan made a great pass into me and I scored after
I scored I felt great. Darragh and Peter scored once until it was 8-0 to us
against Snugboro. The starting team was Stefan in goal Peter and Oran in the
back line and Michael and Darragh in the forward line. Two minutes into the
match I got put on as a sub I was pretty happy because I was on the bench for
the first match.

In the match
was against Breaffy I hadn’t been started but I came on for Michael it was 3-0
to St. Pats and Oran had scored twice and Michael had scored one. I got the
ball and passed it to Oran and Oran gave me a through ball and I hammered it in
to the back of the net. The keeper had no chance and it was now 4 0 but they took a shot it wasn’t really a good shot but it
wen in somehow Stefan should had saved it but he wasn’t acpecting it. But it was now 41 but peter lobbed the player
and passed it to me I nutmegged the player by an accident but who cares I shot
and scored it was now 5-1 to St. Pats. And we won I felt really good. I scored
6 in the whole competition
and we won. I was chuffed that we won. We were champions.
Darragh Reilly - St Pats 9 Bohola 1.
It was the 3rd match of the tournament. We were playing against Bohola. We were 3 points ahead of Breaffy. It was us St Pats at the top of the table. We were heading for the semi-finals. The starting line up was in goal Stefan Hester, the 2 centre backs Peter Basquille and Oran Groarke and finally Michael Waldron and me Darragh Reilly. So Mr Canning gave a big inspirational team talk before the match. So the match kicked off and I was very nervous. From the kick off I layed the ball back to Oran and he passed the first defender and the ball blistered wide. The First goal came from Oran’s freekick what an exhibition of turning defence into attack what a finish by Oran. We got a few more goals from Michael and I the referee blew the final whistle and the match finished 9-1 we were over joyed that we won the match we went on to win the tournament in the final we won 3-2 Oran was the player of he tournament and he was the captain we were Futsal champions 2013. We were Championies We made our way back to school we were absolutely mental about it. We were joking that we lost and 1 minute later we said that we won the whole tournament we got a big round of applause when we said we won. We got the night off homework for our efforts. Even though we should have got the whole week off homework. We were all hyper. My family were so proud of me. Well that is the end of my report.
Michael Waldron St. Pats 8 Ballinrobe 1
In the semi-final we played Ballinrobe we beat
them 8-1,it was a thriller of a game.I was in the starting five I felt amazing
and also suprised. Peter scored the first two goals and Darragh scored the next two, then I scored an
own goal, my heart sank. I made up for it though I scored two and assisted
Darragh and Peter once I felt great.Ben came on near the end. The final whistle
sounded, we were in the final it was nervrecking.
Oran Groarke St. Pats 3 - Gaelscoil na Cruaiche 2
It finally came the moment we were all
excited. It was us St. Pats vs Gaelscoil na Cruaiche in the final. They got an
early lead and soon doubled their lead from a penalty! Just five minutes later
I scored a goal from the half way line. And then another goal minutes later.
With a minute to go Darragh Reilly tucked the ball into the bottom corner. And
then we all jumped with excitement. And then the ref blew the whistle. We won
3-2. We are the futsal champions. And I won player of the tournament. I was
really happy with myself for winning . C’mon St.Pats.
Dylan Howley
On Tuesday the 18th of November. We went to Breaffy to play in a futsal competition and Mr. Canning was our manager. In our first match we won 4-1 against breaffy and then we played Snugbro school and we bet them 7-0 and then we played Bohola and bet them 9-1 and in the Derrywash game we beat them 7-2 . In the semi – final we beat Ballinrobe 8-1 and in the final we were two nil down and then Oran scored two goals to equalise and then it went to golden goal and Darragh scored the winning goal and after the match we started celebrating and then the referee Paul gave Oran "Player of the Tournament". It was fantastic to win. The best parts of the day were when we were racing against some of the Breaffy players on the track. It was great to win. CHAMPIONS.
